Robin is off traveling with his family in the circus, remember? He's part of an family acrobat act and some bad guy kills his family. Now this COULD be his pre-circus days, but he kinda had that "orphan" feel to him...lol.

And this movie is not in your $25 range, Eroz? WTF??

Only one movie has ever made my $25 range. And that would be The Butterfly Effect.

I don't know, man.  The whole idea of Robin is kinda cheesy in itself.  If they can bring in Robin and keep it as real and believable (read: no cheese factor) as it is now, I'll be even more impressed than I am now.  And I'm pretty damned impressed with this beginning.

BTW, if we're using the dollar scale, this would deffinately be in my $25 category.

I was working on a 67 page equation that would have answered the meaning of life, and also given the direct line to God's office until I saw this thread on my other monitor... So I stopped what I was doing, threw out the equation and went to see this movie as TBone commanded.

It was worth it.

Yep, its honestly one of the best movies as far as "the total package" that I've seen in a long time.  For me, the "total package" is a good balance between drama (emotional content), a well written story and great action.  The last two movies at the theatre that did that for me was Tears of the Sun and Man on Fire.

Oh, before someone brings it up, I'm using a American dollar for my scale.

Robin won't be in these series. The second one introduces the Joker and the third has the Joker on trial and something else happens. I need to find where I found all this from...

Considering all the changes that this movie went through before it hit the theathers. I'm not going to hold my breath on changes for the next sets.

Well, in this case, I can say that I'm happy they're taking it slow. Begins had a great script and just that kept me going through even the dialogues. If the other two scripts are as good, if not better, than I'll have no problem with them taking their time like this. I just hope they add a lot of depth to the other movies like they did with this one.

I was thinking about how that might have been Robin but it wouldn't really make a lot of sense. The purpose of this movie was to get the series back to the comic roots it was born in. That kid obviously came from an abusive family, while Robin came from a loving circus family. It wouldn't really fit if they changed his story that much. Also, the dramatic change between his family life and his loner status after their death was great to propell his character, I don't know why they would needlessly fuck that up just for some continuity between movies.

Ok, the DVD just came out today and it's worth the resurrecting of this thread.

Just like with the DC and WB collaboration with Constantine, the movie is released in a one disc special edition:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005JNJV/102-7704797-2996108?v=glance&n=130&n=507846&s=dvd&v=glance
or a disc deluxe edition:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000AU9UYM/102-7704797-2996108?v=glance&n=130&n=507846&s=dvd&v=glance

The one disc is just the bare bones movie for those who just liked the movie and aren't interested in anything else. The deluxe edition has a second disc of bonus features about the character of Batman and how they made the actual film (also comes with a little 72 pg. comic book; for the comic fans.)

For those of you who haven't seen it yet, this is your time to rent it. As for all of you who have already seen it, it is a very worthy buy and addition to your DVD collection.

Also, the second disc is so awesome. It's presented in comic book pages and there are no real buttons to push on. All the features are sorta hidden in the pages and all the extras kind of feel like easter eggs. I really like it and it's really iinventive.

as for the robin thing, i don't think that was him..i think that's one of the 3 kids that befriends batman and helps him out once in a while, you see them in the cartoons, and they were in the comics too...

although there are 3 robs, one is now nightwing, the one after him got killed in the late 80s or early 90s, and then there was another... i think there's like 4 totaly actually, im not sure, but it's more than 3.

i am so pissed, best buy put on the widescreen and fullscreen on display... but they claimed they didn't have no deluxe edition and acted as if they never even heard of it, and were like "oh we didn't get yet"...

wtf, yet i checked for prefered store availability and they had it listed... so i checked to see if it was bsing me by searching for a dvd that i know that store doesn't have in their anime section, and just to my surprise, it come up unavailable... This to me was confirming that the thing actually knows where the products actually go to, cuz it probably takes the product id and tries to locate it within my area code...

so yeah, i didn't goto get it, someone else was stopping by there on the way home, and i honestly feel they were gettin bsed.. blah ill goto tomorrow.... stupid people shouldn't work at bestbuy, nuff said.
