I've never played an MMO before and so i have a question. If after having the account and everything for a while you get a new computer, it is possible to switch over your same account and not have to completely start over, correct?

All your account/character info is kept on the game servers. You just have to install the game and what ever patches there are on each machine.

I forget where it was but I saw this article involving an Alienware rig.  They bought one and then made an identical computer and ran tests and the difference was very small (big surprise)

alienware=coslty computers because:
1. They look so damn cool.
2. Its prepackaged. Youre not getting any better parts than you could get custom.

customs computers will usually cost less, but you have to figure in that if you dont know computers, youll have to get some guy to build it for you. Im getting a custom comp for 1500:
AMd Athlon 64 FX (not quite sure of ghz)
256 mb ATI Radeon 9800 pro AGP
Dual 512 mb RAM sticks
17' flatscreen
160 gb HD
And to top it all off...the guy(who since ive known for like, 10 years, is getting me this at a looooooooooot less than it would normally cost) is making it modded for me. Its gonna be a fridge....with a little place for a soda or two. Its gonna be taking 2 powerslots though. That sucks.

Now that im done bragging, look in the off topic section, I believe, and there in the stickys is a topic all about building a custom.

Don't get me going on alienware, they charge 1K - 2K more than its worth. The cases are dead ugly, and if you wanted an ugly pos case like that well here, http://xoxide.com/zalien.html close enough to one. Anyone who buys an alienware has not done their research, stay as far away as possible. I can water cool my pc on top of it for cheaper than an alienware, btw.

if youre going to buy a pre made computer for gaming, i recomend falcon northwest. Tehy are by far my favorite computer company. Although theyre cheaper than alienware, theyre still are probably more expensive than if you made it custom. actually, making anything custom will be cheaper than a pre made computer, so theyres really no point in arguing. Or at least any computer worth having is cheaper custom made.
