Well PS is acting dumb and for some reason when I use the text tool my letters are microscopic, no matter what font pt they're at :(. Plus I get this long ass  progress loading bar that pops up anytime I do something. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Nice sig....I just photoshop CS3 ...i'll have to give it a shot this weekend...I'll be off night shift :D

There is also another program for making animations...I'll have to post it once I'm home later tonight...

unfortunately when my compu decided to wipe itself I lost my "for academic purposes" copy of PS :(  and the guy who gave it to me graduated and moved off to Georgia

Check the dimensions of your canvas.   It almost sounds like your canvas size is unnecessarily large.

What is the viewing percentage (the current zoom), it's listed on the bottom left of the screen.  What happens when you zoom all the way into the text?

My canvas size is 400 x 150

current Zoom is 2% When I zoom all the way in to the txt it becomes bigger and I can see it.

That is you problem.  Try 100% zoom, buddy. :p

Should always be at 100% zoom.  That should be your default.
