I would be very surprised if they tried to sell it for 200 usd, I think its going to be less than that.

dont care about half the stuff. The galaxy map will be online, and 6 days will be nothing in the long run.

I've never understood the draw of collector's editions.  All the schwag and booklets seem like overkill when all I really want is to just play the game.

crikey; will do that. I am embarrased/ proud to say that I have 4 or 5 gentle giant star wars things (bought by my children and my dog in each case). They are good quality busts so really the pre-order is only 60 euros or so (with games where I am costing maybe 45 euros). All in all therefore only 15 euros more than I would have paid anyway.

You'll be surprised to know that I do not, in fact, own any "CE" Matrix merch.  :P

I figure I can be a fan without needing to show it off.  That, and I enjoy being not-broke.

I got the SC2 collectors edition, mainly because it came with the first game on USB - but the box, DVDs, and art book collect dust.

Apparently pre-orders are going to start at 8am GMT July 21st.  Rumored that only the first 50,000 will be guaranteed, with the rest put on a waiting list.

I can't tell whether this is in regards to this CE, Origin exclusive or whatever other version there it.

It could also be totally false.

I read it on The Register http://www.reghardware.com/2011/07/20/star_wars_the_old_republic_pre_order_tomorrow/ , which was reporting on Kotakuhttp://kotaku.com/5822741/rumor-star-wars-the-old-republic-collectors-edition-details-leak-limited-pre+orders-start-thursday .

However, I realise Kotaku has a tendency to post anything that gets sent it's way, usually presented by an author whose picked and extrapolated facts from thin air.  It doesn't give any indication for the basis of said information.

Quote
Pre-orders for The Old Republic will come in two flavors, the basic edition and the special Collector's Edition. The total number of pre-orders EA is purportedly taking caps out at 500,000, with only the first 50,000 pre-orders guaranteed, the rest queued in a prioritized waiting list.

Those purchases will only be handled through EA's online store, Origin. Interested customers may want to make sure they have an Origin account in good standing prior to the pre-order launch if they're hungry for an early copy.

At best guess, and it is a guess. I would say it is only pre-orders for Origin release.  But then, I would have to question why a 500,000 cap with a 50,000 cap on guaranteed preorders when it is a Download format?

Yeah on the swtor forums they have a screen shot the im pretty sure confirms this as being true.

 The screen:

Also there is a good chance all this preorder info is real because the Unofical CE/preorder discussion is already on its second thread and bioware hasn't  shut it down yet.
