A few weeks back, a show that I normally didn't want to watch was having a marathon. I was doing some house cleaning at the time, and decided to give it a chance, and I like it very much. It's was Stargate, and I thought it was pretty cool, and so I was wondering if there were any other Stargate fans in the clan?

Uh, yeah... I don't really *watch* it, but I have seen a few episodes, and thought it was pretty good. I see they have started a newer series too, I think they are in space, rather than on Earth.

I'm a total frickin rock star from mars.
C'mon bro, I got tiger blood.

Yeah, that's the one I like the best, plus I was in an Episode of it! :)

It's called Stargate: Atlantis, and I actually think it's much more well done than SG-1. It's a miniseries that is filmed in Vancouver, after the original one. I think they're also planning on doing another movie, now that the show has been named most-watched sci-fi series of them all!

Ya! Stargate SG-1 is about the only TV show I watch. The rest are movies, HBO, etc. I'm partial to McGyver. :D I haven't seen a new episode in a while. Like Zink, I think Stargate: Atlantis dropped the ball. Neither male nor female lead is belivable. You can't really take the Startrek formula and pawn it off on SciFi fans. You who've seen Stargate: Atlantis will know what I mean. I'm giving all she's got, Capt'n. I afraid she''s gonna blow!

My parents are junkies of SG-1 and Atlantis...when they started playing that whole Earthsea thing it was pretty interesting till  I concluded it was another Harry Potter based story (i.e. man becomes wizard, does wizardy things, is a pussy but might later on become a badass, etc)...if you guys want to see a badass show, you guys HAVE to watch Battlestar Galatica...and not the old ones (since I haven't seen them, so I dunno if they compare to any of the older shows like it) but I mean the sexy new episodes.

i enjoy stargate, but more the original ones, cuz yeah, who doesn't love mcgyver? without the 80s hair? they are just lovable characters; you change the characters and you change the fans, and the fans are not fans of change. especially when movies make sequels with none or very few of the same actors .... then it just sucks .... but yes if i got scifi at school i would be watching stargate and xfiles all day, but alas, we don't even get discovery channel .... so no bikes or monster house **sigh** .... therefore i don't watch tv much .... occasionally cartoon network is on the background .... and now that you know my entire tv background (or wish you did) i'm off to tempt fate

Actually, in the first movie the role of Colonel O'Neil was played by a different actor. :P

Seriously though, Stargate: Atlantis is a bit, how should I say this... sucky? It doesn't suck you into the episodes like SG-1 does, and lacks any real staying power. Things happen way too fast in that show for them to be believable (who the hell would pretend to be an ally then a day later turn on you? It's easier to wait around for several months, get as much as you can out of them, then backstab them).
