It was a great lift off, I also love the external camera view.

Yeah I managed to be in a residents room at work that had the tv on... The external fuel tank cam was pretty awesome!

heh... "Flight operations manager John Shannon said the nose cone of a fuel tank hit a bird during liftoff."

As most probably already know, the Canadarm (big robotic arm on Discovery) is Canadian, and they will actually be using some special laser camera to inspect the thermal tiles of the shuttle, the camera was developed and tested in my city by a company called Neptec.

Safety prayers are with them and their mission! :)

NASA has announced the grounding of all future space flights.  It appears during lift off of Discovery, there was a chunk of foam that came off the external fuel tank.

Reports say it did not hit the shuttle, but the issue is that the foam could still have potentially damaged the shuttle, as it did Columbia.

Also a damaged thermal tile has been detected, and there won't be any decisions on what will be done about it until some time tomorrow.

I'm hoping all will be ok for the crew of the the Discovery. Keep them in your thoughts guys.
