Sorry, but I really thought the first one was over hyped, and badly directed, good ideas that were overshadowed by bad bad bad exacution.

This one was much, much better.  A very enjoyable movie, although personally I didn't like the ending AT ALL.

Whatever Saw lacked, Saw 2 made up for and then some.  Lion's Gate is really starting to make a name for itself.  Hostel is the next film they're pushing out, and it looks awesome.

Ever since the Scream sequels, I've felt that horror movies have taken a strong slope downward.  Even movies that claimed to be "scary" were more action films than anything else.  Some of them were even comical.  The two most recent Chuckie films are proof positive of what's become of the standard "scary movie".  But Lion's Gate seems to be opening the horizon for more psychological thrillers.  Movies that really fuck with your head rather than make you jump out of your seat.

One thing I wanted to point out, on the same line as Manic, is that the Saw movies aren't suppose to be scary. They're suppose to be psychological thrillers, which means that they're suppose to just really fuck with your mind. I think that's the only reason why people are disappointed with the first Saw (because they expect it to be "jump out of your seat" scary and they just don't get the psychological thriller part).

I think Saw II has accomplished its mission. It's a must see.

Moral of the movie: cutting yourself sucks.

Dude, every time I see a logging truck going down the highway, I just want to pull to the side of the road and stop for about two hours just because of Final Destination 2.

Sorry to get off topic, but...
LMAO, I'm sorry but that death by barbed wire fence is the sickest thing I've ever seen in a movie, to this day.

I just DLed the first part and I'll probably see this sometime, if I can find someone to go with.

The barb wire fence death is in the first one I believe, so this thread should still be spoiler-safe Des. :)

No, the barbed wire thing is in Final Destination 2. I was refering  to Eroz's post, not Saw 2. I haven't seen it yet, however, the first one was freakin' sweet.

Their are too many flaws in Saw to call it a Psycho horror. Me and sho have try to see what good point of it are. We had one......The story was good. That is it. The Movies just sucked

Ahh, I haven't seen Final Destination 2, but I remember there was a scene in the first Saw where they found a victim who died while crawling through barbed wire.
