The commercials capture my attention.  Anyone know anything about it?  Comes out Friday.

Based on a TV show on the BBC about a virus that sweeps humanity, killing the majority of the population of the human race. However, the survivors took on the characteristics of vampires (enhanced reflexes, strength, speed, etc.). Beyond that, no clue. But, it looks bad-ass.

And if you're wondering what that kick ass song is in the trailer, it's "24" by Jem.

I think it's going to be shit, but I'll download it - er, I mean, I'll pay to go see it at the cinema, and make my mind up then.  I have ordered the DVDs of the TV program from Amazon as it got really good ratings.  What worries me was that Gun Kata stuff they took through from Equilibrium.... that movie sucked too much ass in spite of not being that bad really

I'm seeing it because it's directed by Kurt Wimmer who did Equilibrium (so you know the action will be awesome.) I don't know about the story but I'm still going to see it tomorrow and review it for the newspaper :D

I agree with Kosila....that, and the fact that I've had the hots for Mila since 5th Element.

Something about this movie just screams cheesy...

I can't put my finger on it...

Well you're a huge Aeon Flux fan and the movie seems to take a lot from that. Most people complain about how the clothes are exactly like Aeon Flux but if you go back a watch Equilibrium, there's nothing different about the clothes as when that movie was made (well before Aeon Flux.)

Secondly, Wimmer was actually making a statement with Equilibrium. This just seems to be one of those cheesy "invincible hero wants revenge" stories. It was probably only made just so Wimmer can see what he can do with action scenes with a lot more money. It seems to only serve the purpose of action, and honestly, that's all I really care to see from a movie like that.

My views on Equilibrium: well choreographed, good costumes, okay acting.  S***  storyline, poor execution.  I'm expecting Ultraviolet to be the same

Saw it earlier today. It is definitely no Equilibrium. It's like Wimmer got lazy knowing that he had so much money to work with. Don't expect anything other than cardboard cutout characters and mass killings (the action isn't anything too amazing either; only certain parts.)
