I am a music freak.  I love music, which mand that I always have my iPod with me and no matter how many songs I have, its not enough.  Anyone like me knows that sometimes there are times when you have the urge to look for new music, but don't have any idea of what to look for.

That being said, I'd like to ask some of you for ideas for good artists/songs to download.  I'll start by offering one group I have recently discovered that I like alot.

Honestly the best way I have found to discover new music whether it is popular or not is Pandora.  I've found so many cool bands that way through the music genome project.

Just start with a couple of your favorite bands and it will suggest music with similar musical traits and feed them to you.  You train it over time with thumbs up or thumbs down what you like.  It's free and amazing.

I'm obsessed with post-rock, currently.  The very mellow stuff that is moody but not depressing.  The bands that I'm currently listening to are:

The Album Leaf
Do Make Say Think
Explosions In The Sky <--- really dig these guys
God Is An Astronaut
Mogwai
Mono
Talkdemonic
65daysofstatic <--- more electronica than post-rock, but still very good
