Had a good time freaking the fuck out this afternoon. My father and his wife live less than twenty minutes away from where the explosions occurred in Boston this afternoon, and they're often in that part of town. Took me a bit to get through busy phone lines but got a hold of him at work, about ten minutes away from the Back Bay area.

Hold those you love, my friends - hold them tonight.

Ha... you better hold on tight... Refer back to my post under the political thread, about what was going to happen.

You've had a mass exodus of people from the military and intelligence fields... Not all from people just opting to leave, but many being forced out or down the ladder.  Good luck to all of you.. This is only the beginning.

Go ahead, make my day.

Yup, that ban on illegal explosives is working really well.

A guy I knew from high school moved his family to Texas to do Federal border patrol. Aside from not being able to jack-shit about people crossing the border for fear of lawsuit he persevered on. Then a few months later they decided to lay a good majority of them off including him. Yeah, he was pretty upset...

Don't believe everything you think.

Horrid scenes in Boston guys; let's hope it's a homegrown nutjob and not some extremist (what am I saying, the Muslim fear factor is going up by another notch anyways, amiright?). I agree with Lithium; they should ban all products that can be used as an explosive or weapon. And everything should be padded in bubblewrap.

Oh, and spare a thought with the thousands dying in Syria, Sudan, Afghanistan and other similar shit holes every fucking day.

EDIT: And why isn't this the front page news article??? More people have died.

Went to lunch today and received a parking ticket from a private parking enforcement company.  They got the make and model of my vehicle right, but the license plate is completely wrong.  The ticket says my tags expired on June 2013.  My tags actually expire in October, nevermind the fact that June 2013 hasn't happened yet.

Went to their website and got their address.  It's a residence here in the Salt Lake valley.  If this is a scam, it's a poorly executed one.

I'm going to call them tomorrow to dispute the ticket, but I'm only going to give them the ticket number.  If they can't accurately recite my vehicle info based on whatever records they keep, I'll tell them I'm not paying them a dime.

If they have the wrong license plate, you're in the clear already, unless they also got the VIN
