Well, things around my city just seem to always make strong references to The Matrix.  That's what I meant about the mind creating what it wants to see.  It's probably just coincidence, but I still can't help but wonder.

Indeed, I ate a rather tasty meal at Sakura last week, as well I met a girl named Mara just a couple days ago. I've seen other things that make reference to things we see in the Matrix, but those are the only two I can remember clearly at the moment. Perhaps it is not so much that the real mimics the Matrix, instead it is the other way around. For example, last time I was in Chicago, I noticed this building and found it very familiar even though I had never seen it before.

Yea, a few of the buildings in game are based off real life buildings. I remember at some point (I want to say back in beta) there was a thread that had the real buildings with pictures of the in game buildings next to them. It was cool.

Yes. The W Bros grew up in a suburb of Chicago. Actually the first two scripts of the matrix never called it "Megacity", it actually took place in "Chicago".
