Who is planning on picking this up? I've got it pre-ordered for PC, and will have access to the 360 version as well. It looks to be a great game from what I have seen - I will definitely look forward to playing with anyone here. It is due to be released next Tuesday (11/10).
Well...I decided, after quite a bit of initial reluctance, to finally do a decent PC upgrade. I really didn't want to spend the dough, but I think I made off with a reasonable deal, and I should be content with this setup for a couple of years:
AMD X2 5000+ Black Edition 2GB DDR 800 (1GB x 2) Asus MSN-SLI nForce 560 SLI AM2 Motherboard Nvidia 9600GT 512MB Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro 92mm Heatsink/Fan Rosewill Stallion 500W PSU
Total: $482
I'm going to use my old case (Thermaltake Xaser III Supertower), and old hard drives/DVD burners (IDE/PATA, which the board supports, up to 4 devices).
Chances are that I'm going to need to ask for help on setting some of this up.
EDIT: Had to add a new PSU, turns out my old one was only 430W, not enough "voltage on the rail" or some shit.
I'm just giving a heads up on my schedule situation: classes have started for this semester, I'm working full time for the month with my friend's company, and I'm cranking out some massive study time for my GRE test coming up next month, as well as (attempting) to prepare my grad school application packages.
I'll still be around 2-3 times a week - just letting you all know that I'm getting crackin' on a few time consuming projects for a couple of months here, so I won't be on as much, but I'm not disappearing.
Trooper's Revolution is having a party at Club Sphinx in Dannah Heights at 7PM EST, apparently with a small 3v3 tournament and best dressed competition.
Just a fair warning that you should seriously consider staying away from using P2P programs at your school.
Recently, in the lab I work in at my school, someone downloaded a new episode of The Sopranos via P2P, and HBO's lawyers contacted the school and my professor threatning to take action.
She had to meet with them today, and each of us students in the lab had to call her and tell her that we did not download, etc.
In the meanwhile, they've shut down that specific hub of internet access in the lab.
Pretty scary stuff - just be warned that you seriously need to watch your ass with P2P programs at your college or university!
If you have a character on the Vector alt ship (Entallitikos), would you either a.) post name of said character here or b.) PM it to one of us if you wish them to be anonymous, as stated by Lith below.
This will make it a lot easier for us to keep track of who's who.
